Ryan Schefke is a dynamic presenter, results oriented leader and hands-on Founder of Lead Liaison, a provider of sales and marketing automation software. Ryan has held various senior positions in sales and marketing at large, midsize and early-stage startup companies over a span of 21 years. Ryan holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Michigan State University (1998) and a M.B.A. with a concentration in finance from New York Institute of Technology (2004).
Founding Ascend in 2004, Managing Partner Rich Herbst provides the visionary leadership behind our unique approach to marketing services, based on more than 30 years of experience in marketing and sales support.
The core of his background is in business-to-business services marketing and consumer packaged goods with firms such as Verizon Communications, ConAgra Frozen Foods, and James River Corp. He has solid expertise in the software, retail, restaurant, and real estate industries, where he has worked with small start-ups as well as large firms.
Rich served as a strategic leader in Verizon, leading a team that launched high speed internet and other online services for small and medium businesses.
Rich received his MBA from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia, an MDiv from the Brite School / TCU, and a BS in Education from the University of Maryland.
David S. Frederick
VP/Chief Marketing & Communications Officer
YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas
David Frederick has been the Vice President/Chief Marketing and Communications Officer for the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas since September 2017. He and his team have developed a 3-year vision to effectively market the Y’s mission and cause including a 2018 strategy that focuses on advertising, communications and partnerships.
David previously served as SVP/Chief Communications & Marketing Officer at United Way of Tarrant County, leading a team of marketers and creatives, delivering world class marketing materials and providing strategic communications and public relations.
Prior to joining United Way, he worked for multiple Fortune 100 companies including AT&T, Time Warner and GE providing marketing communications, digital marketing and strategy.
In addition to his full-time career, David is an active member of the American Marketing Association (AMA) DFW chapter, where he serves a Director of Nonprofit Marketing Special Interest Groups, and a current member of the Forbes Nonprofit Council. He has a passion for mentoring young marketing professionals to positively provide a listening ear, guidance and resources as needed.
