Brian Sullivan
Director of Design Strategy
Sabre Corporation

Brian Sullivan is the Director of Design Strategy for Sabre, where he applies user research and consumer insights with the latest technology to build new products for the travel industry. He is an expert in design thinking, user research, accessibility, usability, and innovation. Brian has led design thinking workshops with several Fortune 500 companies, actively participates in the user experience community, and founded the Big Design Conference, which has over 1,000 attendees each year from around the globe.

Brian founded the UX Certification program at Southern Methodist University, where students are taught design strategy, user research, UX design, and usability testing within one semester. The program was recognized by Values College. Plus, it was a finalist for a Tech Titans Award in 2017. The UX program has been instrumental in moving students from the campus to a career and helping working professionals move into new careers in management, strategy, user research, design, front-end development, and usability.

In addition, Brian is the President of the UX Dallas meetup, which has almost 3,000 members. He sits on UNT Technical Communication Advisory Board and the XD Leadership Alliance. Plus, Brian helped to launch World Usability Day for UXPA. He is an Executive Producer on the ProjectUX TV show, which is a web-based series where UX experts help startups. Brian also supports World IA Day, Dallas Give Camp, and various hackathons each year.

Brian is an internationally recognized industry speaker. He is a Keynote Author on Slideshare, where his presentations are among the top 1% of content on the site. Brian’s presentations had been translated into 30 different languages. In 2013, his presentation called “Design Like DaVinci” was the #1 talk at SxSW. In 2015, Brian gave the #1 workshop at SxSW called “Pixel Perfect.” Brian is the author of “The Design Studio Method: Creative Problem Solving with UX Sketching” and is currently writing another book on user research and innovation.

 

Elaine Torres
Senior UX Visual Designer
7 – Eleven

Elaine Torres is a Sr. UX visual designer who, along with a vibrant UX team has been tasked with incorporating user experience design into the company culture at 7-Eleven, Inc.

Prior to working for 7-Eleven, Elaine worked in a company that she founded in 2014 that focuses on creating opportunities for businesses to incorporate digital marketing practices, digital design to include user experience design, and social media management into their overall marketing strategies. A recent graduate of the User Experience design program at SMU, Elaine has pivoted to become an evangelist for user centered design and understands the importance of shared knowledge and understanding at the point where technology and people meet.

At 7-Eleven, Elaine works to foster the growth of the members of her UX design team as they take on the challenge of implementing a user centered design process throughout the organization.

 

Sam Jebeli-Javan

Citi

Sam is part of the Digital Self Servicing strategy team in Citi Retail Services. He has been on the Technology, Product and Strategy side of Omni channel customer experience, sales, and service for 11 years, across Australia, Asia and North America.

He has been part of the Financial Technology world for 17 years and he is an alumnus of the University of Technology, Sydney.

Jeremy Johnson has been working in User Experience and digital products for over 15 years. Starting as a designer, but quickly moving to managing and selling — Jeremy’s scope of influence is now focused on moving organizations to experience-driven methods. Leading change to help organizations understand the value of customer experience and the process needed to create value for their businesses. Jeremy has experience every step of the way: starting with deep user understanding, iterative prototyping and validation, design, and finally development.

In the past Jeremy has worked in-house running UX for a number of great brands: Sabre Travel Network, GameStop, and Travelocity. Currently he’s VP of Customer Experience for projekt202, an experience-driven application design and development company that focuses on user needs via observational studies that lead to insights that feed the design process. Through projekt202 he’s worked with great brands including: Mercedes-Benz Financial Services, Capital One, Samsung, The Container Store, Neiman Marcus, and many more.

While his work in UX and CX takes up most of his time, he’s also passionate about: travel, photography, technology, fashion, gaming, watches and iced tea.
